THE COMPUTER STORY:
Hey Kids! Computers have taken over! Find out from Eddie The Electron how it happened step by step!
My name is Eddie, I am an electron. In this book is the story of the start of the computer age that has grown to take over almost everything. A friend of mine worked in the computer industry and did most of the writing of the book. What I would do is tell you the computer story from my point of view. This is was because electrons have been involved with computers from the start with a simple light bulb. The technology is demystified, making it accessible for younger audiences, yet even tech-savvy readers will discover new insights about computers.
Unlike the academic tone of many computer history texts, this book is crafted to be engaging and enjoyable, enriched by the author's and my sense of humor. It provides a comprehensive view, weaving in intriguing side stories, such as the capture of a German submarine. Readers will learn more than just history of the machines but also about how they work explained in ways they will understand.
This book will be an excellent addition to today’s computer classes.
