It is the inventor’s desire to make this new table design popular. To do this the inventor has put quite a bit of effort into making the construction of an alley pool table inexpensive and easy. The design described in the manual was developed by the inventor to make construction low cost and quick. Half inch plywood or particleboard from Home Depot or Lowe’s is what’s preferred for this design. Particleboard will reduce the cost of the table substantially. To make the table look really good it can be covered with Formica. This can be done by a local woodshop or cabinetmaker. It is anticipated that the fabricator will get his wood at Home Depot or Lowes.
The table is about 26 inches wide and about 6’7” long. The table can be built from one 4 by 8 foot plywood or particleboard. Cutting the long sides of the table, that are over 6 feet long by 8 inches would be challenging for fabricators even if they have a table saw. By getting Home Depot or Lowe’s to cut the large sheet for you with their panel saw makes the construction simple. They will use their large panel saw to cut the sheet into 8 foot long pieces. This also makes the size of the frame easy to get exact.
Design Plans

The new alley pool table has been reengineered to make it really inexpensive and easy for home builders to make their own compact pool table. About all the homebuilder needs is a saw preferably a power saw. The making of the long sides of the table are easily done by the panel saw at Home Depot or Lowe’s. The inventor built the prototype in one side of his garage. He is not a woodworker nor does he have a woodshop. Included with the plans is a detailed parts list.Amazon is a good source for almost all the parts like the small motor that is used to make the table twist.
Included in the plans are some fabrication tricks that simplify the construction and make it much quicker. Frame pieces are temporarily formed in a box and then 2 x 4 pieces are glued in the corners. These tricks really make building the table easy. And save the need for expensive tools.
